JACARANDA FESTIVAL 💜
One of our most favourite pastimes travelling around the country is joining in local festivals. This regional festival definitely didn’t disappoint! The Jacaranda Festival in the Clarence Valley township of Grafton, held each November when the Jacarandas bloom, is said to be the oldest floral festival in Australia! (Thanks Our Freedom Life for that bit of trivia!). Driving across the bridge over the Clarence River and looking out over the sea of purple as well as driving down the jacaranda tree-lined streets is very special... and if you love the colour purple as much as we do, it’s spectacular! The townsfolk get right into the spirit, donning purple everything... even spray painted beards for the gents! Jacaranda Thursday is a big day for this small town as it’s declared a public holiday for the locals to go and enjoy the festivities. We highly recommend you pencil this one in your diaries and check it out! We'd love to hear... what’s your favourite regional festival?
